ALEX DOYLE GUITAR

Welcome

————————

Hi, i’m Alex Doyle — a rock and metal guitar coach helping players of all levels build true mastery across rhythm, lead, tone, and technique.

Whether you’re stuck in a rut, chasing tighter rhythm, faster picking, or better phrasing — I work with serious guitarists who want to go beyond tabs and tutorials and finally develop the tools, mindset, and sound of a confident player.

My teaching philosophy is around structured and detailed lesson plans to suit your needs, with the ultimate goal to provide you with all the tools you'd need to navigate the music landscape with certainty and freedom. My approach emphasises strong fundamentals, including music theory, technical skills and repoirtoire.

I build a clear, results-driven pathway to becoming the guitarist you’ve always wanted to be.

Testimonials

Angel Arnaudas

"Alex has become, not only my guitar teacher but also a friend and a guide in all aspects related to music into which have been always interested merely as an amateur.

Alex is a fine and patient teacher, always focusing in the student above his own (great) skills as guitarist. Fundamentals (scales, intervals, chords and harmony) are at the top of the list during our lessons but never neglecting the fun of playing songs, etudes or passages. I know for a fact that both younger students and the older ones enjoy equally thanks to Alex's approach to teaching. The learning curve of each of us is different and the progress is as important as the time needed to learn theory and skills."

Andy Loughran

"Alex is an incredible guitar tutor. I have thoroughly enjoyed his lessons which have equipped me with new techniques and allowed me to learn the songs I love without feeling too pressured. Highly recommend him!"

Charlie Wholley

"After being taught by Alex for several years, I can easily say that he is the best guitar tutor that I have had the pleasure of knowing and having lessons with.

Alex’s kindness, patience, guidance and versatility has led for me to be able to play songs such as ‘Blackbird’ by The Beatles on the acoustic guitar and that’s why I highly recommend for him to be your teacher."

Paul Wood

"Alex has been teaching my son for the past 11 years. He was the only local tutor that was willing to take on an enthusiastic 6 year old, who had wanted to play guitar from the age of 3. My son is now 17 and Alex has been more than able to communicate clearly, guide, teach and support him at all ages. Alex tailors his lessons to the students requirements, interests and abilities, be that learning a new piece or working towards a formal grading. In all his teaching there is an underlying emphasis on technique and theory. Alex is a very warm, welcoming and patient person. Who is able to convey this and he’s teaching effortlessly in face to face or online video sessions.."

Dan McGough

"Been having lessons with Alex every week now for over 2 years and id never picked up a guitar previous to this he made me feel comfortable and at ease straight away. He is a great teacher ive learnt so much in the time ive been going to him hes very patient and understanding i see him as a not only a teacher but a mate now. I highly recommend Alex if your looking for tuition on the guitar"

Simon Willet

This guy oozes talent, creativity and technical ability. Coupled with the capacity to share his knowledge and communicate concisely and effectively makes Alex a bit of a gem in the guitarist world, and an absolute diamond teacher!

Great person, great guitarist, great teacher!’

Olivia Denley

"I actually look forward to my guitar lessons as they are so fun and enjoyable. Alex helps me to learn what songs I like and what songs he thinks would suit me; this helps me to grow as a musician! Alex is kind, understanding and very encouraging which is very important of a music teacher :) If I make a mistake, he teaches me how to do the skill right and encourages me to keep trying. I have only been having online lessons with Alex for a few months but I can already see a big improvement in my playing and a growth for my passion of guitar."

Lynden Edwards

"I had the pleasure of teaching Alex whilst he was a student at the Birmingham Academy of Music and Sound in 2005. He was a good player coming in, and always fully applied himself to his studies. His playing has continued to improve greatly over the years, playing with bands and recording to continuously add to his experience. He’s a smart, easy to get along with, and someone I can easily recommend as a teacher for all levels and abilities."

Ross Hawkins

"Having played in a band with Alex for several years, there's no finer lead guitarist. A born musician with a great ear. Someone who can truly inspire up and coming guitar players with his wealth of knowledge. If you want to reach your potential and have a passion for guitar, Alex is your man."
